CONNECTING THE BROAD REGIONAL COMMUNITY THROUGH FILM

The Picture House Regional Film Center will enhance the quality of life for people who live and work in the region by providing a new venue for entertainment, cultural enrichment, educational programs and economic development.  

It will create a dynamic force with positive benefits for the entire lower Westchester County region from the northern Bronx, to the Sound Shore to the lower Hudson River towns. Far reaching public benefits include: a state-of-the-art facility for presenting unique, enriching and entertaining film programming; a cultural anchor stimulating regional economic development, including the creation of new jobs, an educational resource for our schools providing new film-based instructional programs, internship and mentoring opportunities for aspiring filmmakers; and the preservation of an historically and culturally significant downtown.

New Communities and Social Networks

In addition to serving the Regional community, The Picture House will create New Communities in the form of Social Networks. These Social Networks are not defined by geography but by the shared experience, enjoyment and knowledge of particular films or genres.

The Picture House will work to promote film-based social networks by providing a forum where connections can be made and information can be exchanged. We expect these social networks will play a significant role in our Education Programs.
