Reel Conversations: Bronxville Summer FIlm Club

<div>The Picture House Regional Film Center is pleased to announce Reel Conversations, a special five-week Summer Film Club series hosted by acclaimed TPH film critic Joe Neumaier. Taking place Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM starting July 1st at The Picture House Bronxville, the series will feature a curated lineup of acclaimed films paired with exclusive in person conversations with notable actors, directors, and filmmakers.</div><div><br></div><div>Designed for movie lovers seeking a deeper connection to cinema, Reel Conversations offers audiences the opportunity to experience advance screenings, Westchester premieres, and behind-the-scenes insights from the artists who bring these stories to life. "One of the great joys of moviegoing is the conversation that follows," said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director, The Picture House Regional Film Center. "This series brings audiences closer to the creative process by giving them direct access to the filmmakers and performers behind these remarkable films."</div><div><br></div><div>The series opens on July 1 with a special screening of the beloved music biopic La Bamba, followed by an in-person conversation with actor, director, and writer Lou Diamond Phillips, whose acclaimed portrayal of Ritchie Valens helped make the film a classic for generations of moviegoers.</div><div><br></div><div>Phillips returns on July 8 for an advance screening and Westchester premiere of his latest film Gangland, a gripping crime drama set on an Indigenous reservation. The film follows a veteran tribal police officer and his trainee as they search for a dangerous fugitive whose return threatens to unleash violence and expose long-buried secrets. Phillips' performance has already drawn praise following the film's premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival.</div><div><br></div><div>On July 22, audiences will experience the Westchester premiere of Baby Doe, followed by a discussion with director Jessica Earnshaw. The powerful documentary examines the story of Gail, a woman arrested decades after secretly giving birth alone as a teenager in a conservative Christian community and leaving her newborn in the woods.</div><div><br></div><div>The series continues July 29 with the advance screening and Westchester premiere of Westhampton and a conversation with director Christian Nilsson. The drama follows a troubled filmmaker who returns to his hometown to confront the consequences of a tragedy he caused years earlier and the relationships forever altered by his actions.</div><div><br></div><div>The final installment on August 5 features the Westchester premiere of Wild Inside and a post-film conversation with acclaimed documentary filmmaker Penny Lane. The film tells the remarkable true story of Flaco, the Eurasian eagle-owl whose escape from the Central Park Zoo captivated New Yorkers and animal lovers around the world, becoming an unexpected symbol of freedom, resilience, and urban wildlife.</div><div><br></div><div>The five-part series will be held on July 1, 8, 22, and 29, and August 5 at 7:30 PM at The Picture House Bronxville. (Please note there is no screening on July 15.)</div><div><br></div><div>Series passes are $80 for all five screenings.
